Wormhole Protocol in ABC
Video Script
Blockchain technology is amazing because it can help create a world where everyone is connected.
But so far, each blockchain operates in isolation, disconnected from other blockchains.
Just like how the continents of Europe, Asia, and Africa are regionally separated from one another
Each blockchain operates independently,
in the same way that the United States is distinct and operates independently from Nigeria.
Vitalik, the developer of Ethereum is facing high gas fees
Jae, the developer of Cosmos is struggling to connect with other blockchains,
and Anatoly, the developer of Solana is battling governmental restrictions and policymakers
These blockchains face problems of their own
Imagine the frustration of a developer… brilliant ideas trapped by the limitations of a single blockchain.
But what if Vitalik, Jae, and Anatoly could help each other?
What if all blockchains could communicate and share ideas interactively?
That’s where Wormhole comes in!
Our protocol works like a postal service.
Sending messages cross-border from one blockchain to another
like parcels being shipped across the ocean.
We allow separate blockchains to connect, send messages, pull queries, build bridges, and create multi-native tokens.
How do we do it?
On every blockchain, we have a core contract that works like a two-way mailbox, sending and receiving.
When Vitalik decides to send a cross-chain message to Anatoly, he deposits his message into Wormhole’s core contract.
Then, Our network of ‘postmen’, called Guardians, verify Vitalik’s message— ensuring it isn’t fake or harmful.
Once our Guardians give their nod of approval, the message embarks on its journey through our Wormhole network, finally landing in Anatoly’s mailbox on Solana.
With Wormhole, Vitalik can find a solution to Ethereum’s high gas fees with the help of Anatoly’s knowledge of Solana’s low fees
This collaboration breaks the border between blockchains
And every problem faced by one blockchain can be tackled with the help of many
Wormhole also supports the creation of cross-chain native applications, NFTs, token bridges, governance models, and DeFi protocols.
This is more than technology;
it’s a shift in how we build decentralized applications for the future
Wormhole is open-source and welcomes contributions from all interested individuals.
Anyone can contribute to make it even better for the community.
